Décoration spéciale appliquée sur deux Dassault Rafale B de l'Escadrille de Chasse 2/4 "Lafayette" (E.C 2/4) de l'Armée de l'Air Française (AA) basé à la base aérienne 113 Saint-Dizier-Robinson avec une décoration spéciale pour fêter le 200e anniversaire du retour triomphal de Gilbert du Motier, marquis de La Fayette, héros de la guerre d’indépendance américaine. En 1824, Monsieur le marquis de La Fayette effectue aux États-Unis un retour triomphal, en forme de tournée d’adieu, quelques décennies après avoir été un acteur clef de l’indépendance américaine face à l’autorité britannique. Cet événement fondateur de la relation franco-américaine est célébré avec l’envoi Outre-Atlantique de deux avions de l’escadron de chasse 2/4 La Fayette (hasard) et d’un Airbus A330 MRTT Phénix. Les trois avions se sont envolés de France hier jeudi 17 octobre et ils reviendront lundi prochain, le 21 octobre.
Special decoration applied to Dassault Rafale B of the Squadron E.C 2/4 "Lafayette" (E.C 2/4) of the French Air force (FAF) based in air base 113 Saint-Dizier-Robinson with a special decoration to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the triumphant return of Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de La Fayette, hero of the American War of Independence. In 1824, the Marquis de La Fayette made a triumphant return to the United States, in the form of a farewell tour, a few decades after having been a key player in American independence from British authority. This founding event in the Franco-American relationship is celebrated with the sending across the Atlantic of two planes from the 2/4 La Fayette fighter squadron (by chance) and an Airbus A330 MRTT Phénix. The three planes flew from France yesterday, Thursday, October 17, and they will return next Monday, October 21.
