Special decoration applied to a General Dynamics F-16C "Fighting Falcon" Block 40CM of the 51st Fighter Wing (51 FW) - 36th Fighter Squadron (36 FS) of the US Air Force (USAF) based in Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea and wearing a special tail to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 36th Fighter Squadron 'Flying Fiends'. The tailfin is the combination of two distinct stories. The red stripe represents the history of the fabulous 'Flying Fiends' who became particularly famous during the Korean War on the F-80 'Shooting Stars' and F-86 'Sabres'. Under the red stripes the checkerboard tail design is the history of the 51st Fighter Wing.
