La dérive représente le premier drapeau du 100e Escadron "Sang et Cerveau" qui a été acquis pendant la Première Guerre mondiale, (WWI) transformé en la crête emblématique représentant un crâne et des os croisés et a été officiellement approuvé par le roi George en 1937.
Le rouge de la queue représente le rôle actuel de l'escadron consistant à fournir une réplique de la menace «Red Air» pour former les escadrons de combat de première ligne de la Royal Air Force. Les éclairs bleus et jaunes représentent les couleurs officielles de l'escadron.
