La SP-MAGTF-CR-AF était une force opérationnelle air-sol des Marines basée en permanence sur la base aérienne de Morón, en Espagne. La SP-MAGTF-CR-AF relevait de l'U.S. Marine Corps Forces Africa, sous l'autorité du Commandement des États-Unis pour l'Afrique. Il s'agissait d'une force autonome et autosuffisante d'environ 850 marines et marins, capable de répondre à un large éventail de crises. Special decoration applied to a Bell/Boeing MV-22B "Osprey" of Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 261 (VMM-261) "Raging Bulls" - Marine Aircraft Group 26 (MAG-26) - 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (2nd MAW) of the USMC (US Marine Corps) based at MCAS New River and bearing a special marking during a mission on behalf of the Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Crisis Response - Africa (SP-MAGTF-CR-AF). The SP-MAGTF-CR-AF was a Marine air-ground task force permanently based at Morón Air Base, Spain. The SP-MAGTF-CR-AF was part of U.S. Marine Corps Forces Africa, under the authority of U.S. Africa Command. It was an autonomous, self-sufficient force of around 850 marines and sailors, capable of responding to a wide range of crises. The unit was specially formed to support U.S. and partner interests throughout the U.S. Africa Command area of responsibility, including embassy reinforcement, support to non-combatant evacuation operations, tactical recovery of aircraft and personnel, humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
