The TC-66, then a state-of-the-art aircraft, took off from Jorge Newbery Metropolitan Airport (Buenos Aires) and landed at the Marambio Antarctic base before flying over the South Pole to reach Australia and New Zealand in 2023

Le F-15E Strike Eagle, numéro de série 91-0311, a été peint avec le même camouflage que les F-111 autrefois exploités par la 48e TFW. Le camouflage présente une teinte de beige et deux nuances de vert, tandis que le radôme nasal est resté avec la peinture grise standard. De plus, en haut, on trouve à la fois la bande rouge du 494e TFS et les inscriptions « 40 ans Eldorado Canyon ». En partant du bas et en s’étendant vers le haut, l’insigne de la Statue de la Liberté de la 48e FW est visible. Sur la surface intérieure des doubles queues verticales, la forme d’un F-111 et d’une Panther, ont été peintes l’emblème du 494e FS. L'opération El Dorado Canyon est une opération militaire américaine de bombardement menée par l’United States Air Force, l’United States Navy et l'aviation du Marine Corps contre la Jamahiriya arabe libyenne du colonel Kadhafi, le . Aussi appelée « bombardement de la Libye par les États-Unis », elle est menée en représailles de l'attentat à la bombe, dix jours avant, d'une discothèque de Berlin-Ouest fréquentée par des militaires américains. Critiquée par plusieurs pays et approuvée par d'autres, elle a abouti à un accord de compensation monétaire entre la Libye et les États-Unis en 2008.
Special livery applied to a McDonnell Douglas F-15 "Eagle" of the 48th Fighter Wing (48 FW) "Statue of Liberty Wing" – 494th Fighter Squadron (494th FS) "The Panthers" of the U.S. Air Force - United States Air Force (USAF) based at Royal Air Force Lakenheath, UK, featuring special markings to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Operation El Dorado Canyon. The F-15E Strike Eagle, serial number 91-0311, was painted with the same camouflage as the F-111s formerly operated by the 48th TFW. The camouflage features a beige hue and two shades of green, while the nose radome retained its standard gray paint. Additionally, at the top, both the 494th TFS red stripe and the “40 Years of Eldorado Canyon” lettering are visible. Starting at the bottom and extending upward, the 48th FW’s Statue of Liberty insignia is visible. On the inner surface of the twin vertical tails, the 494th FS emblem—depicting the shapes of an F-111 and a Panther—has been painted. Operation El Dorado Canyon was a U.S. military bombing campaign conducted by the United States Air Force, the United States Navy, and the Marine Corps against Colonel Gaddafi’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya on April 15, 1986. Also known as the “U.S. bombing of Libya,” it was carried out in retaliation for the bombing, ten days earlier, of a West Berlin nightclub frequented by U.S. military personnel. Criticized by several countries and approved by others, it resulted in a financial settlement agreement between Libya and the United States in 2008
