Afin de perpétuer les traditions et de commémorer l'histoire de l'AVG, les avions du 23e Groupe de chasse de l'USAF arborent le même « Shark Teeth » (motif de dents de requin) sur le nez que les Curtiss P-40 Warhawks de l'AVG, ainsi que le code de queue « FT » (Flying Tiger). Les avions du 23e Groupe de chasse sont les seuls appareils de l'US Air Force actuellement autorisés à arborer ce marquage distinctif et historique. D’après les photos récemment publiées, deux A-10 portaient en effet respectivement les surnoms de « King Dedede » et « Toad ». Il s’agit dans les deux cas de personnages de Nintendo, bien qu’issus de séries de jeux différentes. King Dedede est un personnage majeur de la série Kirby. Il se proclame roi du Pays des Rêves et est généralement représenté comme un personnage rond, bleu, ressemblant à un pingouin et brandissant un gros marteau. Toad est un personnage de la série Super Mario. Il fait partie des habitants au chapeau en forme de champignon du Royaume Champignon et on le voit souvent venir en aide à Mario et à la princesse Peach. Ce Fairchild Republic A-10C Thunderbolt II a essuyé des tirs et a été endommagé lors de la mission de recherche et de sauvetage visant à retrouver le membre d'équipage d'un avion de chasse américain F-15E abattu au-dessus de l'Iran, et s'est écrasé au large des côtes de Musandam, Oman lors de l'Opération Epic Fury 2026 ; le pilote a été secouru.

To carry on the traditions and commemorate the history of the AVG, the aircraft of the USAF’s 23rd Fighter Group feature the same “Shark Teeth” (shark-tooth pattern) on the nose as the AVG’s Curtiss P-40 Warhawks, as well as the tail code “FT” (Flying Tiger). The aircraft of the 23rd Fighter Group are the only U.S. Air Force aircraft currently authorized to display this distinctive and historic markings. According to recently published photos, two A-10s were indeed nicknamed “King Dedede” and “Toad,” respectively. Both are Nintendo characters, although they come from different game series. La mention "E Pluribus Unum" est la devise en latin qui apparaît sur le Grand sceau des États-Unis. Ce sceau est utilisé comme emblème de facto des États-Unis, apparaissant notamment sur les documents officiels comme les passeports. Il apparaît également sur les sceaux du président, du vice-président, du Congrès et de la Cour suprême (qui sont très proches du Grand sceau). The phrase “E Pluribus Unum” is the Latin motto that appears on the Great Seal of the United States. This seal is used as the de facto emblem of the United States, appearing notably on official documents such as passports. It also appears on the seals of the President, the Vice President, Congress, and the Supreme Court (which are very similar to the Great Seal).
